So we’re sitting on the plane, waiting to leave the lands of mist and snow, heading for Moscow and from there to sunny, warm Perth where I will no longer need to put on 15 layers to walk across to the hotel restaurant. Current temperature in Salekhard is a nippy -30 Celsius.
